Contest: GUI Games

Courtesy of Vitos, owner of GUI Games we have a new contest to tell you about!

Heres the official briefing given by Vitos:

"Here's the challenge: Create a 2D top-down GUI shooter/adventure. That's the only requirement, so feel free to get as creative as possible with this. The game can be controlled with the keyboard or the mouse, it's your choice. Though these are *not* required, some elements you might include could be: bullet physics; bad guys; bad guys with guns; basic AI; collideable obstacles; puzzles; levels or scrolling terrain; upgrades; vehicles/vehicle physics; explosion effects; score system; etc.
Like I said, these elements are not required; they are only suggestions to get you started. PM me links to place submissions on or by November 18th. If you'd like me to take a look at your place before it's finished, I'll be glad to. Good luck everyone, and feel free to PM me any questions."

Also Vitos adds there might be a "5000 robux" prize for the winner,

We will be posting results here, good submissions and generally supporting the contest. Good luck to all those involved from everyone here at Robloxia Today.

Introducing... RobloxianFire2!

Hello everyone! I'm RobloxianFire2 and some of you may know me from ROBLOX (Of course, this is what the blog is about. :P) Anyway, I am one of the new blog writers or authors, whatever you wish to call it, on the blog. This means I can post new posts to the blog and other stuff that normal viewers cannot do.

So, You may be wondering... "What are you going to do to help this blog?". Well.. let me tell you. I'm going to try post atleast twice a week at the most, if not more and my posts will probably be either one of the following:

1) A tutorial.
2) A new update.
3) A competiton. (Not sure about this, I'll have to ask MasterDaniel)
Well... Have fun blogging and I'll see you around! =)

Personal Servers: Good or Bad?

Personal Servers were released this week, but are they good? or bad?

Lets take a look at both sides of the argument. First the bad reasons.

1) They lag
2) No advanced tools
3) No studio

The good reasons

1) We can build with friends
2) They autosave
3) They have more processing power so there is generally less lag.

So is the argument balanced? Fairly. But as with most things, Personal Servers are good and bad depending on your viewpoint. I personally love them. But you might hate them. Its all down to personal preference. What do YOU like?

So why would people complain about studio not being a feature. Well, people would do this because they want to be able to script with friends, and do other, more advanced, things in the server. However, this is a problem because scripts wouldnt work until the place had been restarted, and also people could mess up the game beyond the owners control. This would most likely have to be an owners choice, if they wanted to allow studio in their game.

Many people like them, many people hate them, and some are inbetween. What are you?
