Hi guys. Today I am going to tell you about the new official ROBLOXia Today Group on ROBLOX. I suggested the idea to MasterDaniel a couple of weeks ago and we came to the conclusion that it will be a good idea. And of course, as the graphics designer on the blog, I designed the logo for the group. So, if you like the blog, why not join the group?

ROBLOX Reviews: Gold Miner vs Ultimate Assassin
Edition #9
This is a not so regular edition. I don't like saying its a special edition because its sheduled for today. However, there is a slight mix up; todays reviews are not necessarily popular games. They have a fair number of visits, around 300,000 each. These are highly favourited games too.
Idea: 6/10
The idea for this place has clearly taken inspiration from Epic Mining 2, a game that I recently reviewed. It is pratically the same thing. However this seems to be originally scripted and has other things too. Like Lava.Gameplay: 5/10
I played the game for about 5 minutes before quitting. Its fairly boring. The gold mine isn't infinite like in Epic Mining 2 and is actually quite small in comparison. There are a few upgrades you can get by buying VIP or getting gold and then buying them in a simple shop.
Scripting: 7/10
They say that you can't judge a book by its cover and you certainly can say that about this place. The scripting is suprisingly good. Maybe the place owner is just not a great builder. The gold dissapears when you step on it and there is some lava and shops. You keep track of how much gold you collect and also buy things in a shop. There is actually some good scripting here.Enviroment: 3/10
The enviroment is very small and basic, and this is including the mining too. There isn't really much to say about this, so have a look at a screenshot of the place.
Enjoyment: 5/10
This place can be quite entertaining, but if you know that Epic Mining 2 exists, this will look bad in comparison. If I am fair, it is quite a good place, but the inspiration is quite obvious. Also, I don't think playing with friends would make much difference on the enjoyment of this place.
Idea: 10/10
In this game you could be an assasin, the target, or someone who must defend the target! Its very original, on ROBLOX at least.
Gamplay: 8/10
The gameplay can quickly become very repetitive, but it is still fun nevertheless. You either play as a target, an assassin or a defender of the target. You play in different maps and must kill the assassin before he kills the target!
Scripting: 9/10
The scripting in this place is really good. From an afk option which you can be forced into, to the round scripts. Theres also a really cool script that changes your arm/gun position to where you are pointing with your cursor.
Enviroment: 7/10
The enviroment is very cool. There are many maps that you could play and most of them are very unique. The one I am playing above is one with exploding AI cars! The constant map change is very fun indeed.
Enjoyment: 8/10
The constant change in map keeps this game fresh for a while. The shop makes you want to keep playing and so does the game itself. Its really good. This would be really good with friends too!

ROBLOX Reviews: Stranded vs Reign of Chaos Tycoon
Edition #8
Welcome to another ROBLOX Review. This post was created in advance :D
Lets dive straight in and play! Then I shall write the reviews!
Idea: 10/10
The idea is completely original! Your plane crashes on an island and you have to survive and find civilisation!
Gameplay: 9/10
The gameplay is great, it has really nice cutscenes and much more, but it can be frustrating when you are trying to find somewhere, like at the clearing for example. However, it is still really fun to play.
Scripting: 10/10
Hey, its crazyman32. Did you expect anything less than a 10 for this? The scripting in this game is amazing, better than all his previous work. The cutscenes are perfectly scripted and so are checkpoints and tokens. I don't think it could get any better.
Environment: 9/10
The environment is very large and empty. It fits with the story though! You are on an Island far from anywhere! I think that there is too much terrain in the first part, but then you visit a nice little village. The environment in this game is very good.
Enjoyment: 10/10
The game is very, very enjoyable. This game doesn't fall short when it comes to playing with friends and thats because you don't play with others. Your stranded! You may see the occasional survivor but this game isn't a multiplayer game. This means that it works perfectly for one player and a multiplayer version isn't badly incorporated.
This game just makes you want to keep on playing. I spent about 30 minutes on there until I realised I had a review to do! It is very addictive and overall a fantastic game.
Idea: 6/10
The idea is not very original, its a war tycoon. Not a brilliant and creative idea like Stranded. There was not much difference between this and other tycoons.
Gameplay: 3/10
The gameplay here is very bad. Like all other tycoons, you press buttons and wait for cash to accumulate. This game has a vehicle or two, but that is not enough to make the gameplay score any higher than 3.Scripting: 4/10
The scripting seems okay, but sometimes it breaks. Anyway, this game might have been made from a starter kit on free models, so the scripting isn't original. It doesn't seem original anyway.
Environment: 4/10
The enviroment is a green baseplate with 6 tycoons. The actual tycoon structure that you are building is mediocre but not great.
Enjoyment: 3/10
The only enjoyment I could see me getting from this, is the satisfaction when you complete the tycoon. It might be fun to have a race with your friends too.
Final Scores
Idea: 10/10 vs 6/10
STRANDED WINS
Gameplay: 9/10 vs 3/10
STRANDED WINS
Scripting: 10/10 vs 4/10
STRANDED WINS
Environment: 9/10 vs 4/10
STRANDED WINS
Enjoyment: 10/10 vs 3/10
STRANDED WINS
The winner, with 5 wins out of 5 is:
Stranded!

New Feature: Studio for Mac

Its finally here! If you have a mac, this is the news you have been waiting for.
STUDIO IS NOW IN BETA FOR MAC!
Lets have a look in depth at what each part looks like
Toolbar
Everything thats in the normal studio is here too. Some of it has been moved, like the Play, Pause and Rewind buttons. They are next to terrain now.
Properties
Wait, what! You can search for properties. This is something that is not in the PC version of ROBLOX Studio! Apart from that, not much has changed with the studio version, except for coloured lines
Explorer
The explorer that you will find in the Mac version is much like the PC version, except its alot cleaner looking!
Output
Finally, if your a Mac user, you can download the Beta version* here from ROBLOX's servers. It should be fully released in a few weeks!

ROBLOX Reviews: Epic Mining 2 vs WipeOut Obby
Edition #7
Welcome to the first ROBLOX Review of the year!
Lets crack straight on with the reviews!
Idea: 10/10
The idea for this game is very original. You mine dirt and eventually find minerals. You can then go and sell these for various upgrades within the game.
Gameplay: 8/10
The gameplay here is very fun and addicting. You will find yourself trying to dig to the bottom of the world, or try and get the maximum amount of minerals. You will probably find yourself trying to get that next upgrade and before you know it; hours have passed.
This game has excellent scripting. It has data persistence so you can save your data, a welcome screen with music and in general, this game has alot of great scripting which works perfectly! When you mine a block, blocks around you are created, so the game is near infinite! (And doesn't lag!)
Environment: 7/10
The enviroment above the mine isn't very large. But hey; its not meant to be.
The core of this game is in the mine, so most of the detail is down there. But even then, its just dirt and the occasional colourful mineral. I really do think I am expecting too much. This game is very nice, but a bit more enviroment would not go amiss.
Enjoyment: 8/10
This game is very enjoyable and addictive. The scripting definately helps make you want to stay, as it works perfectly and adds some create functionality to the game. The game in general is fantastic and is well worth a play!
Idea: 8/10
Okay; its an obby. However, this obby is different. Its based off that TV Show Wipeout. Or if you live in Britain; Total Wipeout. This game is a nicely executed idea, and even if you don't like obbies, maybe you should give this a try, especially if you like the show!
Gameplay: 6/10
Unfortunately, the game play is exactly what you would expect from an obby. The only difference is that this has obsticles from Wipeout. This sort of makes the game fun, but the gameplay isn't amazing.
Scripting: 7/10
Again, this is much like any other obby. There is minimal scripting. There are checkpoints that save your position without putting you into teams. It seems that alot of this game is based of ROBLOX physics, which is okay but more scripting would be nice. There are some traps where balls come down and try and knock you off, and some conveyer belts but it still seems minimalistic.
Environment: 7/10
The environment is very large, but not very varied. It sort of lives up to the show because there is water underneath you. The environment is mainly composed of some hills and then the obby. I gave it a 7 out of 10 because in an obby, enviroment is an added extra!
Enjoyment: 7/10
This game would be very enjoyable if you watched and liked the TV show. You'd feel as though you were playing it! I think that the enviroment gives it a nice touch and that it would be very enjoyable with friends too. Maybe if there was a timer!
FINAL SCORES
Idea: 10/10 vs 8/10
Epic Mining 2 wins!
Gameplay: 8/10 vs 6/10
Epic Mining 2 wins!
Scripting: 10/10 vs 7/10
Epic Mining 2 wins!
Enviroment: 7/10 vs 7/10
TIE!
Enjoyment: 8/10 vs 7/10
Epic Mining 2 wins!
Epic Mining 2!
Final Thoughts:
These two games were close. The average score of Wipeout Obby was 7 and the average of Epic Mining 2 was 8.6!

Meet: Dactor123
WITH DACTOR123
When did you join ROBLOX and why?
I joined 22nd October 2008 because my brother found it and told me to join. So I did.
What do you think is your best game and why?
My best game so far would have to be my bowling game, I was wasting time on groups and helping other people, meanwhile I was getting better in building and scripting ability.
One day I had an idea for a bowling game. So I knuckled down and got building. I'm one of those people who will take a break from building and think 'whats the point?' and I often give up but this game was different.
I made sure I was building nothing else. I kept thinking about the potential result. I knew what I wanted to have at the end but I wasn't sure how to do it. I was sure that there would be a point in the script where I would have a lack of knowledge and not be able to finish.. so I wrote inspirational comments to myself on the script like --COME ON! YOU CAN DO IT!
It was challenging, but I managed to complete it within a few weeks. I was amazed and because I thought it would fail I hadn't uploaded it to roblox so not many people knew and I wanted it to stay that way until I managed to comb the remaining bugs out and properly release it.
Whats your Favourite Game on ROBLOX and why?
I don't really play many games on roblox. I'm mainly building and playing my own. But I did like Roblox's building game.. It was the Bot. I had this obsesion with the HelperBot. So Cheerful. So Helpful. So Amazing. I used to pretend to build just so I could be near it. Lol jk. But that was an amazing model when it first came out and I never thought I'd be able to create a robot with simular qualities. So if I did have a favourite game that was my favourite game.
Any tips for players out there wanting to be famous?
Well heres the thing about roblox. The players only play if they like the picture. You can have a rubbish game Like an obby but if you have an awesome picture of spongebob people will flock!
But you see people prefer the picture if it is some sort of action scene. If you look at the front page now I bet the mojority of the games show you fake avatars doing something, a house in the middle of exploding or a first person view of the game with a gun. Any game can have an action scene picture. Take Roblox building for example, that is a picture of people building.. Theres something about that, that makes the player want to play. The player wants to come see these people building. The player wants to see these people shooting. The player wants to see the balls rolling into the pins and what happens after that ball hits the pin. The only way to find out is to play. So the tip is, action. Don't just have a picture of a car! make the car tilt have an avatar stand next to the car going crazy. Action makes the picture more exciting and fun. and thats what the people want.
What are you going to be doing soon?
Soon, I'm going to be making new games and finishing other games. Woah thats alot of words. bye now!
